OUR HISTORY
Morrison Community Church (MCC), originally owned by the Conference of Methodist Churches, was purchased in 1938 by the Pillar of Fire Church along with the house next door as a memorial to Alma Bridwell White, a renowned evangelist at the turn of the twentieth century. The Methodist Episcopal Church began serving the community of Morrison in 1876. By 1884 the church building was completed for only $600. The church was destroyed by fire in 1890 and rebuilt in 1892 under the guidance of pastors Kent and Alma White.
MCC was organized in 1947 by the non-denominational American Sunday School Union and moved into the one-room, unused historic church in 1981. The well-maintained building still radiates with simple charm and is on the Colorado Historic Registry. The building is typical of the church architecture in small communities of Colorado in the late 1800's.
Today, MCC continues to operate as a non-denominational church that gladly welcomes a wide-range of people and their blend of Christian traditions, personal life-experiences, and unique gifts.
